The Rising Phoenix: Where Fashion Meets Purpose for Autoimmune Awareness

THE WOODLANDS, Texas — September 2026 — The Phoenix Journey will host its signature fundraising event, The Rising Phoenix: A Runway Experience, on Thursday, September 24, bringing together fashion, storytelling, local businesses and community leaders for an afternoon designed to reveal the often-unseen realities of living with autoimmune disease.

Built around the theme “Reveal the Unseen. Empower the Unheard,” The Rising Phoenix is far more than a traditional fashion show. Models with personal connections to autoimmune disease will take the runway while their individual stories of resilience, perseverance and hope are shared with guests.

“This event was created to help people see beyond the diagnosis,” said Dominique Cousin, Founder and Board Chair of The Phoenix Journey. “So many people living with autoimmune disease look perfectly healthy on the outside while navigating challenges others may never see. The Rising Phoenix gives those stories a platform while showing what can happen when a community chooses to walk alongside them.”

The experience begins at Nordstrom in The Woodlands, where guests will check in before being transported to an undisclosed luxury destination. From there, attendees will experience an afternoon of runway fashion, chef-crafted bites by Chef Adrian of In House Chefs, boutique shopping, luxury swag bags, a silent auction, signature cocktails and several surprises woven throughout the program.

VIP tickets for the event have completely sold out, with a limited number of General Admission tickets remaining.

The event will also highlight the power of community collaboration. Local boutiques, sponsors, healthcare and wellness professionals, volunteers and businesses have contributed to creating the experience and supporting The Phoenix Journey's mission.

Aaron Cox, President & CEO of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, will serve as the event's Honorary Opening Speaker, welcoming guests and helping set the stage for an afternoon centered on community and connection.

Proceeds from The Rising Phoenix support The Phoenix Journey's work to empower individuals living with autoimmune diseases to make and sustain lifestyle changes that may improve their disease state. Through individual support, community education, wellness resources and strategic partnerships, the organization is working to build a stronger network of support for the autoimmune community in Montgomery County and beyond.

The organization is also actively seeking relationships with healthcare providers, businesses and community partners who share its vision of creating a more connected approach to supporting individuals navigating chronic illness.
