Conroe-Based Omni Expands to Meet Growing Need for Home Accessibility

New Omni AccessAbility division helps Montgomery County families create safer homes while supporting dignity and independence.

CONROE, Texas — As the needs of families across Montgomery County change, Conroe-based Omni is growing to meet them. The local construction and remodeling company has launched Omni AccessAbility, a division devoted to helping people live more safely, comfortably and independently in the homes they love. For a family caring for an aging parent, a homeowner adjusting after an injury, or someone whose mobility has changed, even familiar rooms can present new challenges. Omni AccessAbility was created to help people find thoughtful, practical ways forward.

For families in The Woodlands and surrounding communities, the new division builds on Omni longstanding work in residential remodeling and commercial construction while creating a more focused way to serve people with accessibility needs.

Why This Matters to Families

According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2023 national population projections, adults age 65 and older are projected to outnumber children under 18 by 2029. AARP’s 2024 Home and Community Preferences Survey also found that 75% of adults age 50 and older want to remain in their current homes as they age. For older adults, the ability to stay at home can mean keeping familiar routines, treasured memories and a sense of independence. After a lifetime of experiences, contributions and wisdom shared with others, they deserve to have their dignity and personal choices honored. Accessibility also matters to children and adults with disabilities, veterans and people recovering from injuries or surgery.

Listening First, Then Finding the Right Fit

Omni AccessAbility is led by Joe Green, Executive Director and Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS). During a project walk, Green starts by listening to the homeowner and learning what everyday life looks like for them. He then talks through options, including when a requested change may not be the safest or most practical fit. The aim is to educate without pressure, address immediate needs first and leave room for future improvements when a family is ready. Services include accessible bathroom renovations, curbless showers, grab bars, wheelchair ramps, doorway widening and safer entrances. The work is tailored to the individual, rather than a standard list of upgrades. “There’s something really meaningful about helping people feel safe and comfortable in their own homes, especially when their needs begin to change. A home holds so many memories, and for a lot of people, being able to stay there means continuing to enjoy the homes and lives they’ve worked so hard to build,” Green said.

A Need Worth Building Something Around

For Omni founder Pete Ringo Jr., creating the division is an extension of the company’s guiding philosophy, Purpose Over Profits. “Purpose Over Profits has never been just a saying for us. It’s about loving people well, serving others, and using what we’ve been given to make a difference in their lives. When we see a need in our community and have the ability to help, we want to do something about it. Omni AccessAbility is another opportunity for us to live out that purpose,” Ringo said. Omni AccessAbility joins Omni Construction Services, which provides residential remodeling and commercial construction, and Omni HomeWorks, which handles home repairs, maintenance and installations. Through Construction Services, Omni also has experience with applicable commercial building codes and accessibility requirements. Commercial construction work remains with Construction Services.

Based in Conroe, Omni serves Conroe, The Woodlands, Montgomery, Willis, Magnolia, Spring, Shenandoah, Oak Ridge North, Tomball, Lake Conroe and surrounding North Houston communities. To learn more about Omni AccessAbility, visit https://omnicd.com/accessability or call 936-524-3708.
