CONROE, TEXAS, July 2, 2025 – Angel Reach, the Montgomery County nonprofit focused on meeting the needs of youth who have aged out of the foster care system and those living with relatives in kinship homes, was chosen to receive a $30,000 community health improvement grant from St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital. The funds will go towards providing counseling and psychiatric assessments for those served through the Angel Reach programs.

“Youth in the foster care system have significantly higher rates of mental health challenges compared to their non-foster care peers. These challenges don’t cease when they leave the system,” said Dan Alexander, Angel Reach Chief Executive Officer. “Up to 80% of children in foster care have significant mental health needs, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, and other disorders. With this grant, Angel Reach will be more strongly positioned to help meet some of those needs.”

Presenting the check for St. Luke's Health-The Woodlands Hospital to Alexander and the Angel Reach staff were Jim Parisi, Dr. Yong Choi, Vice President of Medical Operations, as well as Enrique Contreras-Martinez, Director of Mission and Spiritual Care for CommonSpirit Health.
