Innovation Council Meeting

Background: When the Houston region was not considered as a location for future Amazon headquarters, the entire region realized the need to invest in Innovation in order to diversify the economy. The Chamber began to formalize an approach to Innovation by placing an item on the Strategic Plan to be a ‘Catalyst for Innovation and Technology in the Region’. In late summer of 2023, the Chamber signed an agreement with Houston Exponential to collaborate efforts to improve the Innovation ecosystem in South Montgomery County and integrate better with the greater Houston Innovation community.
 
Objectives: Identify and support the Innovation economy by providing advocacy, marketing and connection opportunities, and resources to innovation/technology-oriented businesses and organizations.
 
Scope: The Innovation Council will collaborate with other Innovation related organizations, develop programming such as Pitch Competitions and Educational events, and define other opportunities to fulfill the objective.

Team: Any Chamber member can be a member of the Innovation Council.
