2016 Taste of the Town
Taste of the Town is the premier culinary event of South Montgomery County attracting thousands of people from across state and beyond. For one low price attendees can sample mouth-watering appetizers, entrees, desserts, pastries, and beverages from some of the area's finest restaurants, caterers, bakeries, deli's and beverage companies.
Throughout the night, attendees will enjoy live entertainment and can purchase raffle tickets to win amazing prizes. Businesses have the opportunity to showcase their company by being sponsor, having a booth that serves food, or by being a raffle donor.
In celebration of the event’s 30th anniversary, Taste of the Town is giving back to the community by collecting non-perishable canned food items in partnership with Woodlands Church and distributing to local charities in need. Donations can be dropped off between November 21st and January 28th at the following locations: The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce, Woodlands Church, The Woodlands Mall Guest Services Booth, Market Street Concierge Booth and at the Woodlands Church Booth at the Taste of The Town event.
A new addition to the 2016 event is a “Best of Taste” contest in which local celebrity judges will sample and score each booth on their dish. Among the celebrity judges include Roshni Gurnani a Culinary Professor at the Art Institute of America in Houston who was awarded the 2009 Chopped Champion on the hit Food Network show, Chopped as well as a 2012 contestant on the FOX TV show Hell’s Kitchen with Michelin Star Chef Gordon Ramsey. Lily Jang, Emmy-nominated journalist & KHOU Ch. 11 News Anchor and Atom Smasher, radio personality and host of the Morning Show on WoodlandsHits.com are among the other celebrity judges.
“Taste of the Town is one of The Woodlands Chamber’s most successful events each year and Buckalew Chevrolet is happy to be one of the presenting sponsors. As our dealership continues its 50 year celebration, this is another opportunity for us to be a part of a community event, showcase some of our newest Chevrolet models and see many friends and neighbors.” Said Donnie Buckalew, General Manager, Buckalew Chevrolet, LP.
"Our award-winning restaurants play a key role in creating the destination experience that is unique to The Woodlands. The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau, which promotes the area as a weekend getaway and meetings destination, is proud to participate in Taste of the Town to celebrate the area's diverse culinary offerings which continue to attract visitors from across the region" said Nick Wolda, President of The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The funds raised from Taste of the Town help benefit various programs that The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce hosts such as Economic Development, Mobility, Healthcare and Education that promote the growth of South Montgomery County, its residents and businesses.
