A community event to promote health and wellness. Our skilled medical staff will be doing blood pressure and blood sugar screenings. Refreshments and water will be provided. Dr. Abusharr has been promoting WALKING as the most appropriate and accessible activity for promoting body-mind-spirit health and after logging nearly 700 miles of walking alone and with friends over the past 6 months, he is now interested in being "out there" with his patients on a regular basis informally teaching and showing how easy and accessible this basic activity can be for everyone. We will walk the 1/4 mile track and ask for a minimum commitment of one mile from able bodied participants. The doc himself will publicly commit to walking a total of 5 miles (or more). It is absolutely non competitive but if folks want to challenge themselves you are encouraged to go for it. Everyone will receive a "certificate" signed by Dr. Abusharr with distance, time, blood pressure, heart rate and even blood sugars before and after the activity, This is a monthly event! Please bring your walking shoes and come in comfortable, appropriate workout attire. This is a family-friendly event, and kids are welcome. Please tell your neighbors and friends. We look forward to seeing you there!
