Highway Dedication for the Army Specialist Joey Lenz Memorial Highway

Join us as we honor the life and legacy of my son, Army Specialist Joey Lenz, a proud Willis resident and WHS graduate who tragically lost his life while serving at Fort Hood, TX. H.B. 2143 was introduced in the Texas House by Rep. Will Metcalf and co-sponsored by Rep. Cecil Bell. Senator Brandon Creighton sponsored the bill in the Senate and signed by Governor Abbott 5/24/25. H.R. 1014 was introduced by Congressman Morgan Luttrell 2/5/25 as the Joey Lenz Act of 2025 to mandate physicals "in person" annually for every active service member. It is now included in the FY 2026 NDAA, Budget of the Dept of Defense.
