At the briefing you will learn about: Smart 911 Individuals can automatically provide critical information to 9-1-1 call-takers about you\, your family\, and your house such as medical conditions\, access information\, emergency contacts\, and pets. Smart Facility Property owners/managers can automatically provide helpful information about a building or campus such as floor plans\, hazardous materials\, key holders\, and Automatic Electronic Defibrillator (AED) locations. Emergency Alerts MCECD is ending a long relationship with CodeRed and improving the emergency alerting system with a new vendor. Text to 9-1-1 Persons in need will soon be able to communicate with emergency operators via text messaging when a phone call is not possible or advisable. Multi-line Telephone Systems Callers using a multi-line telephone system will have easier access to 9-1-1 and emergency operators will have better location information on the caller.
